Woman Kidnapped, Assaulted in Lake Worth Beach

Victim

A person should be able to go for a walk around their neighborhood without fear of being assaulted. Unfortunately, a Florida woman will probably never do so again after she was kidnapped and raped by three men while walking in Lake Worth Beach.

The woman was assaulted by three illegal immigrants, with the sheriff calling for tougher security at the border. All three men were from Guatemala.

The woman was walking along Lake Osborne Drive on the morning of March 11 when one of the men grabbed her and threw her inside a vehicle. The three men drove off and stopped near the intersection of Congress Avenue and Melaleuca Lane. They then sexually assaulted the woman while filming the ordeal. The men then drove back to Lake Osborne Drive and assaulted the woman again.

Fortunately, the woman managed to escape. She flagged a passerby, who took her to the hospital and reported the incident to the Palm Beach County sheriff’s office.

While the men are originally from Guatemala, it is believed that they came into the United States through Mexico. The sheriff criticized the federal government for not securing the southern border. He remarked that the immigration crisis is the worst he’s seen in his 52 years of law enforcement. The sheriff’s office’s Intelligence Center works closely with the FBI but the sheriff stresses that more crimes like this will happen if the government doesn’t do something quickly to strengthen security at the border.

The three men, ages 29, 30 and 31, are accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting the woman. The 29-year-old man is facing felony charges of sexual battery and false imprisonment. The two others are facing charges of felony conspiracy to commit false imprisonment and felony conspiracy of sexual battery.

What is Sexual Battery?

The men in this case are facing sexual battery charges. Sexual battery is done intentionally and refers to the unwanted touching of another person’s intimate parts, such as their genitals, breasts, or buttocks. Sexual battery is a form of sexual assault.

Sexual battery can occur in various contexts, including but not limited to domestic situations, workplaces, and social settings. It can occur as part of a premises liability case, such as negligent security. Those who are convicted of sexual battery can face felony charges. Punishment may include imprisonment, fines, and registration as a sex offender.
